After many years of touring with Norwegian band “Butterflyfish”, singer and guitar player NINA released her debut CD “The Guest House” (BE 222) on the 6th September. NINA, who writes all her own songs, is joined by two other highly accomplished musicians, bassist Dan Peter Sundland and percussionist Hans Hulbækmo. They met at the Jazz University of Trondheim and developed Nina’s compositions together introducing their own personal style to the recording process. You can also hear influences from Africa, India and the Carribbean that stem from Nina’s travels around the world as both a student and musician. All this inspiration results in 11 genre-defying songs that blend pop, blues, jazz and funk. “The Guest House” was produced by Gunnar Andreas Berg at Skansen Recording Studio in Trondheim and Bergland Studio in Orkanger. It is mixed at Saga Studio in Orkanger, and distributed by Musikkoperatørene AS. Find the album on ITunes, Spotify and Wimp. You can order the physical CD at any Norwegian Record Store.
